Each quarter Fort Payne Main Street hosts a Business Breakfast downtown as a way to update everyone on the goings on in historic downtown Fort Payne. Our ultimate goal is to preserve our unique history and personality of downtown through historic preservation, as we nurture business growth and economic vitality. The Fort Payne Main Street district encompasses all of the businesses on and between 3rd – 8th Street, but is financially supported by businesses throughout the county who depend on a charming main street as a way to attract workforce, tourism and culture to our area.
The next Fort Payne Business Breakfast will be hosted and sponsored by Roadside Que, one of our most loyal business supporters, on Tuesday, June 4 at 8 a.m. (607 Gault Avenue North). Look for the ‘Que’s trademark pig and cast-iron cooker smoking up some tasty barbeque.
At this meeting we will introduce all the businesses recently locating to historic Main Street, tell you about our ongoing curb appeal and design projects like the Chandelier Tree, public art initiatives and murals. We’ll give you an update on the Farmers Market that started Memorial Day weekend, and our downtown walk-a-bouts every Saturday.
We will also share our calendar of events, including August’s Hispanic Festival at Rotary Pavilion and upcoming Mountain Top Hop Fest and Tasting, on October 12, designed to attract a brewery to our downtown; and the Fort Payne Main Street 5K Run the same day. All of these events are designed to bring people to our downtown main street to SHOP in our stores, EAT in our restaurants, and STAY in our area hotels, B&B’s and cabins – and to make Fort Payne Main Street home to their business.
We will also officially launch our membership campaign, and look forward to sharing those details and opportunities with you.
And, as always, we will look forward to seeing each of you and hearing your ideas about continuing to move our historic Fort Payne Main Street toward being the very best it can be!
