Well good morning my Fort Payne Main Street family and friends! It is Small Business Saturday after Thanksgiving and officially the beginning of the Christmas Holiday season. I know, I am about three weeks behind because I am old school traditional when it comes to Christmas. I can actually remember the very first time A Charlie Brown Christmas was aired on national television and how special it was for me. I love the traditional spirit of the season and the simple joy that it brings.
Remember to shop with our downtown Main Street small businesses today for Small Business Saturday and continue to shop with them for the holidays! They offer some really neat gift ideas.
Let us take a look at our historic downtown for the festivities of the season with a special” Christmas in the Park” on December 7th starting at 4pm and going until 7pm and continuing after that is the Fort Payne Main Street Shop & Stroll. This is an opportunity to join participating Main Street Merchants as they Celebrate the Holidays with shopping, caroling, refreshments, and specials throughout each store. This is going to be FUN! Ho-Ho-Ho See you there! Be sure and check individual merchants’ Facebook pages for up-to-date information. This will be a great experience for young and our wonderful seasoned citizens that remember the Christmas times of the past.
Here at Fort Payne Main Street we are getting some real traction on filling up our available buildings downtown with new businesses coming into our town and setting up shop. We have a couple of new venues coming into town in 2019. We are going to get a one of a kind establishment in the heart of Fort Payne that will be announced shortly. This will add to the one of a kind places like The Vintage 1889, The Spot, The Strand, Roadside Que and Fontana’s. It too will offer great food, drink and live entertainment. We are very pumped about these fine folks coming in to bring after hour activities downtown. Next on the coming soon stage will be another wonderful eating establishment with a franchise name attached to it that will also offer drinks and live music. These two additions are going to really attract foot traffic to the heart of our historic downtown district and I have a feeling this will attract others. It is a very exciting time downtown.
