Good morning my Fort Payne friends from Fort Payne Main Street. I am very excited and enthusiastic about the steady growth of our historic downtown district. I can see and feel the progressive movement and it is contagious.
I am in the ins and outs of what is developing in Fort Payne and the common core of the excitement is the reawakening of the beautiful, sturdy, well built buildings. These beautiful buildings have literally stood the test of time. I am constantly amazed when I get to tour one of our old sights and get to see the craftsmanship of these historic buildings.
Fort Payne has many forward thinking entrepreneurs that are putting their money, time, effort and dreams into our town which makes us all feel the gains regardless if we are just bystanders so I say shop local and shop often and support these real dreamers.
The Fort Payne Chamber of Commerce and Main Street are really enjoying the benefits of our business connecting event Success in Sixty, it is held every first Thursday at 11:30 to 12:30and is held at the chamber office. The price of the event is $10.00 which includes a meal and the luxury of a special speaker that helps us grow as business owners so come be a part of this great business connection tool.
Main Street is getting our updated membership brochures ready so we will be coming after everyone to please join at a level that you are comfortable with.
The newest addition to our downtown music is next to The building so enjoy the tunes, our local DJ Steve Malcom is getting together a great mix of music for you guys. Fort Payne Main Street is having our 3rd moving for Main Street 5k on June 2nd and it will be a twilight run which will be a cool twist. Register for the race early at www.raceonline.com. Follow Fort Payne Main Street on our Facebook page. We have a lot going on so social media is the best way to keep up with us.
Connie Fuller and myself had the pleasure of speaking to the Scottsboro City Council about our Main Street and what it has done for us and the benefits of being a designated main street city.
Thanks for your support Fort Payne of being a part of our downtown renewal, it helps us to keep moving forward.
