Well goodness gracious my Fort Payne people and fans of Fort Payne, I always say that you do not have to be from Fort Payne to love Fort Payne just as long as you love it! Oh yeah good Saturday morning everyone and welcome Spring time we missed you.
Let us take a look back on last weeks activities which included our first Saturday Sunset Cruise In and it did not disappoint. Amelia and her awesome team kicked it off with a bang. We had a great turnout of classic cars, local music and a nice balance of great food and treats. We cannot get all of this done without help from the City of Fort Payne, Fort Payne police department, Chris Roberts, Dan Patterson, and the fine people who share their cars with us. This is community at its finest.
I want to give Eddie Smith at Alabama Motorcars a huge thanks for the Upgrade of one of Fort Payne’s oldest buildings. In a short time Eddie has put his money and creativity into his building. This was the original Chevrolet dealership that opened in 1940 and we are so pleased that Eddie chose to bring this historic downtown building back to life and thanks for sharing your art and cars with us also…77 rules!
Okay people, our Fort Payne Main Street Farmers Market is heading into its 3rd year and we are excited to offer this as one of our favorite Main Street events. We will have our first on Saturday May 26th located this year at the Rotary pavilion. It is a little late but old man winter would not give up this year so our farmers are a little late. I assure it will be worth the wait when you bite into that first tomato sandwich of the year with a local farm raised tomato on it.
Fort Payne Main Street is soon to have our first discount card available with just our downtown merchants on it. The annual Alabama fan appreciation week is quickly heading toward us and we love celebrating the guys and the fans for a week. The date for that is June 14,15,16 and 17th, so stay tuned for the activities that always go with that.
Yes ladies and gentleman Fort Payne is a great place to live and love life so come be a part of our Main Street community life.
